[0:00] Thank you, everyone, for tuning in for another episode here on the Inner Power podcast.
[0:09] I've got to say, this is completely unexpected. This was not on my agenda. And when you look at the title of this episode, there's irony there. There is some serious, serious irony, and it's just, I cannot help but sit here and go, right, this is interesting. So, I'm going to get to this, but this is how this stuff unfolds, and this is how this episode came about. And it was literally, this started dropping in yesterday, but it's been happening over, like, the last few days. I have been absolutely loving my time because over the last week, I have spent about 36 hours on screen and a good portion of that, I'd say about 80% of that, I have been talking. Surprise, surprise.
[1:08] I have been recording. I have been interviewing. I have been talking, getting to know wonderful people. and of course, catching up with some beautiful, beautiful souls that I do know. And it has just been a really beautiful week. So, it's kind of been this like real buildup, but they've been really intense days. So, you can probably also tell I'm a little bit like run down right now because even as I'm listening here, I could probably get that little sense of a little bit nasally. The whole thing is I'm just super tired. I'm not going to lie. I'm like, I'm seriously, I am really, really tired right now. Don't worry, I have coffee in hand or WD-40 for the brain. My brain is being lubricated as we speak. And it's just, I look at this going, how does this happen? But I need to do this episode. So it's been really intense. I've been pretty much doing 9 a.m. Well, before that, I've been doing school drop-off. So awake at 7.30, 8 o'clock, pretty much get dressed, out the door, school drop-off, straight back into the office, straight back in through the studio.
[2:13] And most, yeah, for three nights in a row, I'm not getting home until 11.30 at night. And of course, you know, a little bit of a wind down time in bed at 11.30, falling asleep on the couch, which I love falling asleep on the couch. Don't know about you.
[2:26] Falling asleep on the couch is like the best drift off sleep I find. So, yeah. So, it's been really, really intense. And then, of course... Today, I was like, awesome. Today, being a Saturday, that's the day that I'm here. Saturday, cool. Number one, and on my agenda, sleep in. Number two, be with family. And number three is like, just chill. So let's just say the world around me did not agree with my agenda. I live in a townhouse complex, and this morning at approximately 7.15.
[3:08] A removalist truck for our neighbors turned up and of course they decided to leave the engine running and i was like oh my god and i thought it was a uh a cold or a woolworth you know a grocery delivery truck and i thought that'll be quick that'll be in and out i can go back to sleep i kind of did but i think it was only like a couple minutes i woke up and just kept running and running and then of course they are moving out so with their dog they've locked it outside in the back courtyard so it's now barking non-stop because it can't get access to its lovely humans so it's we've shut the doors we've shut the windows it's like but you know what happens when those moments come you're done that's it you're completely done the the mood the vibe of sleep in gone gone ski gone um so it's just absolutely and then so then all of a sudden i'm getting messages and emails going oh hang on your deliveries are coming and it's just like of course this is built up to christmas at the time of this and i was like this was i told they sent a message saying it was going to be next week but now all of a sudden i've got a message saying expected delivery, Friday.
[4:25] And I'm like, but today's Saturday. How can you have an expected delivery in the past? So, oh, but they're coming today. And I'm like, so anyway, organizing that. So, I'm like, cool. You know what? I literally just went with it under massive protest, by the way, massive protest, and, Good thing is it wasn't that grumpy. I was taking out my family, but I was letting my family know that I was a little bit tired and a little bit upset that I didn't get my sleep in. Yes, I'm one of those people. I don't do very well tired. I know most people don't, but you know how like some people, I hate, look, I confess, I'm a grumpy, grumpy, agitated, tired person. Tired is not my friend.
[5:10] So, yeah, so I decided, right, that's it. I go with the flow. So, instead of, you know, sleeping in, chilling, doing all the rest of it, no, it's time to run around, collect these items, do this. And also, while I'm here, because, you know, just putting certain, you know, deliveries in certain places to be, you know, wrapped in this, you know, without disturbances later on, here we are. And I'm like, you know what, this is happening. I need to record this because I'm here, I've got the opportunity, why not?
[5:45] So, unexpected. So, that's the runnings of how this is happening for me right now. This is why you're listening to this episode because I feel like there is an absolute push to do this. And it's also a beautiful thing because inspiration. So, this is about increasing inspiration.
[6:07] And this has been a big thing because i know for the last 18 months and of course if you've been following me listening to me for a while you know that like last 18 months have been very different i've almost been a very holding pattern because it's as if i have not been able to, really visualize sense feel anything like in terms of a bigger vision or about how i want things to roll even more so it's it's been a very unusual energy for me that is very, uncharacteristic it is definitely not how i like to operate by no means excuse me.
[6:49] Sorry i'll have a swig of coffee that will keep it going ah that is good i'm not gonna lie so it has been a very very unusual 18 months and the energy has started to shift. And that's why, like, it's interesting. Like, and then all of a sudden I've had this wonderful time. I've made a very special decision not to travel at the end of this year. Sorry. So, you know, like, it's given me time to be here. I've connected with amazing people and it's kind of like getting back in flow. So, I've been really, really, really busy. So, where this comes in is like, wow, like, this is something that I have been made aware of, sorry, be made aware of. But the thing is, is like,
[7:34] sometimes you miss it. Sometimes you don't like realize it's happening. And this is why I wanted to share this with you because if you've been anything like me or you're currently in that kind of state where sometimes you're so busy actually doing things or chasing your tail or it feels like it's just, there's a constant run.
[7:59] If you're doing that and it's not enjoyable, then your inspiration rate or the you know the amount of inspiration moments that you're going to receive are going to absolutely crash they're going to be very very low because we are operating on a very very strong beta wave wavelength and we can't like when it's and to describe that to you if you're not familiar with it, the beta wave, if you saw it on a screen, they're tiny little waves and they're so close together. And that kind of just shows you there's no bandwidth. There's no space for inspirational ideas to come through or to drop in or for your guides and universe to offer them. Okay. Not saying they're not, they are offering it there. The only difference is it's as if your frequency is full and what's happening is you're pretty much giving off the engaged signal so that happens and so when you're in that mode of constantly doing but it seems to be really preoccupying that's what's going to happen so it's been interesting because over the course of this week, I have noticed that I have received a lot of beautiful, surprising inspirational moments.
[9:28] And I'm like.
[9:30] Cool. I've noticed it. I've even talked to my team about it because I'm like, wow, where's this coming through? Where's this energy coming from? I wasn't expecting this. And these are the kind of phrases I've been using. I'm thinking, you wouldn't believe it. This kind of came up. And then once this came up, then this happened. It's almost like, wow, here we go. What's happening here? And it was only yesterday that I started to reflect on this. And then i've realized man there's a common pattern here.
[10:02] And it was specifically over the three big days where i've been in the studio doing everything and obviously tidying things up because you know we're getting ready for you know the next year we're getting ready for the next fiji retreat we're getting ready for the next soul mini retreat all this kind of stuff so these there's other things obviously going on besides just recording but I'm fitting that in and around it. This was a priority. And then I've just started to kind of backtrack and reflect on, wow, this has been, I've received a lot of, you know, inspiration this week. And I can also say that inspiration has been beautifully guiding. It feels so good. Like the inspiration is just feel right. I'm like, wow, what an idea. That's that kind of feeling. I'm talking about this level of vibration of like, where it's like, oh, yeah, it's like, okay, that feels really good. I'm going to run with that, like good inspiration.
[10:58] And so I was just like, I couldn't help but ponder and going, What's the difference? Where's this coming from? Why now? Yes, we've got energy, whatever else, but it's just unusually a lot and very beautiful kind of simple but powerful ones happening in a very short space of time.
[11:20] So, that's why I was yesterday, again, in my very, very tired mode, I started to reflect on where's this happening and what's going on here. And that's when I found the pattern and starting to understand of course it's also through this process again has led to me talking to you about this on this episode on my day off because just going with the energy and going with the flow so what's happening is what I'd noticed the pattern was I was so busy I'd come in race here get in here start doing the stuff that I did then it was when I could find the space to obviously have a lunch break. Now, sometimes that didn't happen until like most of it was 2 p.m. And then I think it was in the middle, it was 4 p.m. So, there were some of them quite late, but I was like, I need to go get some more WD-40, aka coffee, and I need to eat because, you know, it's a lot of brain power when you're talking, interacting, sometimes channeling.
[12:24] But it was then, so I would take myself off to Starbucks because it's just down the road and it was the quickest thing, especially at 4 p.m. Because anything else that I really like is already shut because they're cafes or something like that. They only do the morning and lunch. Got old Starbucks, it's reliable, it's open much later, has the stock standard. So, I'd be taking myself off to Starbucks and this is what I did for those three days. It just was like, it's easy, it's quick, it's convenient. But I also made a point, here's the huge thing I made a point of taking myself out of the office.
[13:00] I consciously said to myself, okay, take your diary because I've got a lot of planning to do. So, take your diary, take my phone, take my headphones because I listen to music if I want to, and then go down there, but sit at Starbucks and be out of this environment. Get out of this office where it's busy doing, doing, doing. Been doing it a good way but it was like no just do this and it was this process, this process that made the difference now i'm only down there for 30 minutes tops of 40 minutes but every time i was down there i would receive ideas now i'm not gonna you know i had thoughts here and I still have them, then I'm thinking, I really should get to Starbucks more often because if this is the way it's happening, it could be my lucky little spot or my little channel spot. I wish it was a better one, but it's just like, but you can't help but have these feelings of like, this is going to happen. So, to give you an idea of what was happening, the first day that I went to Starbucks and I was there and I was like, cool, I'm going to book in some more things in my calendar for the coming year.
[14:25] And those of you who know me, you know my calendar. My calendar is chockers. So many people don't even know where I live because I'm so busy traveling. Like, you know, where do you come from? It's kind of a big question I get asked. And I was like, and it's funny, I get asked more of that where I live, which is the Gold Coast. It's quite funny. It's like, oh, so where are you based? I'm like, here. You're like, oh, really? Yeah. It's like, this is where I live when I'm not flying. I literally got my Virgin wrap-up of the year, and I was in the top 5% of their clientele of flying. That's just Virgin. I've flown on a lot of different airlines this year. So, there was quite a number of kilometers and hours in the air for me this year. Again, but that's what happens. But what was interesting, I was sitting down with this calendar. I was like, cool, I've got to start planning this, working with this. And as soon as I got my pen or my pencil to the paper, it was really fascinating because the one thing that I could absolutely feel and notice was resistance. Massively, like massive resistance. It was the only way to describe it was or is like as soon as I was going down, it's like automatic writing in reverse. If you're not familiar with automatic writing, automatic writing is where you're channel writing and the energy is coming through you and they take over your hand and they write the messages that they want to write and it's got nothing to do with you.
[15:54] This was the opposite. it. It was as, I want to write, but the energy's coming through and holding my hand back on purpose going, nope, nope. It was just like this. I try to do it. And even I managed to get one or two kind of things just penciled in, like nothing's booked or anything like that. But even as I looked at it intuitively within myself, I'm like, no, this is not right. I don't feel good about this. And that's frustrating because I'm like, I need my year planned. I'm usually not like that, but like I needed to have a guide. But I had to trust this. I really, really, really had to trust this. So, I kind of just, you know, I was even planning like my, the second Soul Reboot for the year. Sorry, Soul Reboot. See, I can't even talk. Oh, my God. My podcast producer is going to have fun with this episode. Hey, Jens. Thanks for that.
[16:54] Sorry, mate. It's a day. I swear it's been a week and a day. And you challenged me, by the way. We've got a challenge. He sent me a lovely gift last night saying, bring it on. Bring on as many episodes as you can. Well, here I am, right? Be careful what you wish for is what I said to you.
[17:13] Are too funny so so that was like kind of day one and that kind of threw me a little bit but then it was interesting like then come day two so i ended up going back down to starbucks on day two.
[17:24] And that's when something out of the blue kind of came then it was like all of a sudden i knew i had to reread a post that i had seen i'm like cool there's something about this post it was a little bit lengthy but like i want to delve into that i want time to read that there is something about that and so i went to starbucks the second day with that intention i found the post sat down with my coffee my lunch and i was working through it and then but honestly i had inspiration around.
[17:52] It's like this is the part that has been missing from one of the courses and workbooks that i offer and i'm like this is what's been i'm like this is oh gold i love this and then also had more ideas come around then once i had discovered that and i was actually kind of really excited about it because it felt so good then all of a sudden it's like no this is a live workshop this is one day thing it's like okay right and i couldn't help it i'm like it feels good i want to do this and even as we speak this is how good and how quick this inspiration can strike when you're in the right space and zone i'm automatically planning it now i'm literally trying to get this up and running and maybe I may only have three or four weeks to make this happen but I'm trusting it because it feels so good and this inspiration has come down it has come through and I'm like boom let's do this so it's a really really big thing that way so I'm trusting that so you know that was day two and I was like wow so all of a sudden I've got extra things to put on my calendar that weren't even there not even on my radar the day before so I'm like whoa okay how's this gonna fit into the grand scheme of things how's this gonna fit.
[19:07] Into the the you know the training the program that i'm offering with the new inner power it's like this connects in perfectly this ties in with the soul reboot but this is the step before it's like all of a sudden like wow okay we're building a bigger picture here so beautiful inspiration as soon as i've left there i've called my team and i've called linda who's my creative director i said this is what's happening and i love it because she's so on the same wavelength as me, like intuitively as well. And we're like, cool. We came up with the name and it's like Awaken Your Soul, One Day Retreat. And I'm like, boom, done. Let's do this. So straight away we're planning that. So that's coming. Like seriously, that's coming. I think it's going to be done probably by the time this one gets aired.
[19:50] But it's just like this is how quick this inspiration can happen. Then comes day three. Okay.
[19:57] I'm now on day three. And again, cool. That's fine. I'm not looking for this, by the way. And then I've gone, right, okay, I was very much in retreat mode, planning to feature retreat, but I've obviously got, like, Italy on the back of my mind. Okay? So, yes, guys, Italy retreat is coming. Okay? Buongiorno. We'll do Italia. It's all going to go to Italia. So, if you want to come to Italia, you need to get on the website. You know, you need to get on there, make sure you join the email so you can be ready to come into Italia with us, okay?
[20:33] So, it's like, I'm excited about Italy. But this is how these things happen. I have had the idea about this for a while. I had a person that I knew that I needed to contact about this for a while. But then it was just like something in that moment, right there again, in Starbucks said, you need to look this up and you need to book in a time. Okay, then. So I thought, yeah, this is a good time. I'm in at the office. It'll just put, you know, something in the pipeline and kind of get things rolling. No problem. So I go on to the calendar to book in. Wow. Talk about wow. I was like, available dates for appointments to have a chat. It was today, 7 p.m. or 10 p.m. No other dates in December. And I wasn't even looking at January. I didn't even click to January. I was like, well, I looked at my calendar. I have a podcast interview at 7.30. Well, 7 p.m. it is. And so, I booked in for 7 p.m. And I was like, wow, okay, then that happened and I booked that in. No problem.
[21:45] And I've got a good length of time and a good runway for this retreat, by the way, guys. This is not like the one-day retreat where I'm trying to do it in three or four weeks. This has got a much longer planning base. But what was interesting is, but as soon as I've kind of done that action, then all of a sudden this inspiration was like, it's like this beautiful drop in and guidance that also pops in and going... Italy this year, okay? Not meaning like right now at the end of one year, but it's like next year. But that was not on my agenda. And I'm looking and going, cool. And again, in the deeper part of me, I'm like, this feels right. I feel like I need to go there, not as necessarily as a retreat retreat, but I'm being guided going, right, I need to go here. I need to do this.
[22:31] So, in all of that, and then sort of had the conversations about Italy and doing all of this. So, I had that at 7pm. Then I had further podcasts, again, finishing all these amazing things. And then even yesterday, I didn't get to Starbucks yesterday. I haven't been there today. I don't want to get there. I don't feel like I want inspiration today. I need a chill day. But even yesterday, even though I didn't get there, but it's because there's a bit more flow and because I've been trusting it and whatever else. Okay?
[23:00] So, but this is just giving you a whole bunch of context of how this happens. And the big thing here is, you know, of course, we can have a look and go, okay, what's the thing here?
[23:11] Here's the thing when you're looking to improve yourself or you're looking to find ways to make life easier for yourself. The key is to look for the pattern. Now, in this moment, I was like, wow, okay, there's been so much inspiration. There's been a greater sense of flow with everything this past week. I have been busy like recording, been in a studio, but what was the pattern? And it was interesting. The pattern, of course, was Starbucks. Now, yes, I'd like to say Starbucks would be the magical thing. And I'd like to say to you, hey, if you're looking for more inspiration or you want to increase your inspiration, just go down to your local Starbucks and you should be fine. Starbucks will light you up. Okay. However, that's not the case. And of course, Starbucks is not the pattern. So what is? What is the pattern? Why was this happening at this particular time? Why was it happening in such quick succession?
[24:09] So, but where it boils down to and what I've really identified is I literally took the break. I took the break and I took the time. Now, what's even more fascinating is it wasn't the case of like, I just need to remove myself from it, but it was like, I just took the break and purposely going, I'm going to remove myself from the situation. I was still working, it's a working lunch, but it was different. I'm not being taken up by all of the activities that are in front of me, in front of my computer or at my office. I don't have all of these things cramming everything into my brain, my brain trying to process and me going, I need to get that done. I need to get that done. This is next. This is next. This is next. So my brainwaves were really tied together. It's interesting because just by taking that time out and for me to say to myself, just stay there. have a different environment surround yourself with different things or different people.
[25:13] Have a different mood because, you know, it had some Christmas carols on, it had some music on, and that provided a different sensation as well. So, all of those things, and by just doing that, that created the space, that creates the bandwidth, and it relaxes the brain. And so, that's why you start to go into a slightly meditative state, which is alpha wave, and they're much more curvy, like they're much more spread out. And that kind of like shows you that there's, you know, you can relax more.
[25:50] It's just kind of dropped in right now. So, there's another inspiration to help to explain this. If you've ever gone swimming at the beach, like a good surf beach where, I mean, there's actual waves, what you'll find is that when you first hop into the ocean and if you stay in that usual knee length to waist height length depth in the ocean you're in the wave or the crash zone and what you'll find is that you are going to be in the ocean constantly kind of being on alert looking for waves and deciding what's the best way to get past this wave are you going to go over or are you going to go under? Can you jump over it or do you have it so powerful or too big, you're going to have to swim under it because it's the only way to stay where you are and get past, you know, the wave. That's the equivalent of being in beta. You're constantly on alert. You're constantly looking. You're constantly facing the next challenge, the next challenge, and they keep coming, they keep coming, they keep coming, and you're in that zone. But as we also know, and of course if it's safe to do so, But we always want to – the challenge is like let's get past the breakers. Let's get past the break point where the waves are actually crashing. And if you actually do that and you get past that break point where they're actually crashing and starting to break –.
[27:16] You're out the back and you'll find that it's a bit more relaxing. And you're going over the waves because they're a bit more of a lull. You're going over more waves than you are trying to go through them, bash them or whatever.
[27:29] That is the equivalent of what we can do in our lives. And me going to Starbucks and removing myself, this was me getting past the break point.
[27:39] And so, this is the key. If you're looking to increase your inspiration like I have been, like I've been trying to do that for the last 18 months but all of a sudden it's just there it's taking this as moving past the break point i could tell you right now by pushing doing doing doing and you're thinking that you might be working on thing you might be just all right i'll keep doing my job and the signs and and the guidance will come it will but the question is if you're so busy jumping over the waves are you going to be really able to see the signs let's face it like we know like maybe your sign is a fish and you're in the ocean going i'm trying to find a fish but if the waves are constantly crashing there's so much white water you can't see underneath so even though technically the sign or the guidance will be there you can't see it because you're so on alert however if you go out the back guess what you can sit the waves aren't crashing so much you can see into the water you'll be able to see your sign this is the perfect little metaphor analogy to help explain this to you so then you start to relate it like when does most people you know inspirations come guess what when you're really taking a break. Shower.
[28:47] Toilet, bath, driving, or if you're fortunate enough, maybe when you incorporate it in your routine of going for a walk or something like that, something that's a little bit more gentle, not so much great strenuous physical exercise. But when you have a look at that list, shower, toilet, bathroom, driving, maybe going for a walk, these things, meditating for another one, because it's creating space, all of those things are when you're really forgetting the world around you. You are getting past the break point or you're removing yourself from that break point.
[29:23] So, and the thing is, like, how many times have you told yourself when you might end up saying to someone, like, oh, maybe I just need to have, you know, 15 showers a day so I can get the inspiration that I want. Of course, that's not viable because you're going to run up your water bill. But the whole thing is, it's actually easier than that. So, the whole point here is, If you're looking to increase your inspiration in the drop-throughs, you need to get past that break point. You need to remove yourself from what you're doing. So, this is so important and a great way to sum this up is to remember by taking the break or having a rest, you are going to actually get way more done because in those moments, you're going to get clarity, you're going to get vision, you're going to get inspiration, you're going to get kicks on your intuition, you're going to be guided, you're going to know what is feeling right. It is these beautiful moments that help us to get out of our head and get back into that connection with ourselves. And so, the more you do this and the more you take the break, and get out of the break point, get past it, have that, the more relaxing it's going to be. So, it's really simple and now I want you to reflect on it and start thinking about your patterns.
[30:50] When was the last time or when was a good time that you started receiving inspiration? Where did it happen? Was it the toilet? Is it in the drive? But those are good places, don't get me wrong, right? We all have them, but how about and how cool would it be is if you could start having them when you're a little bit more alert and ready to receive them. So, there's something for you to really kind of think about, ponder, and I'd love to see you kind of execute it. And the best part is, guess what, guys? Just experiment with it.
[31:24] Because now that I've seen my pattern with this and I've seen what's kind of happening, I'm definitely going to be increasing that a little bit just to see where things are coming or what's happening.
[31:37] So, that's the best way to increase your inspiration. Get past the break point. Create more breaks because it's in the breaks. It's in the rest that you will be able to receive more. But I believe the things that you're going to receive are going to help propel you forward. They're going to give you the clarity that you're looking for. And that just makes us move with confidence. And that's what I want for you. So, you know, go ahead, give it a try, think about it and look at how you can increase those parts into your day. So you can increase your inspiration as well and really start living and moving forward with it. So hopefully it helps and hopefully you've enjoyed your coffee with me. But right now I'm going to go finish off mine before it gets too cold but again thanks for joining me and i really do hope you can start to increase your inspiration and i look forward to catching up with you all again on the next episode.
